Sonato Community Guidelines

Last Updated: April 20, 2026

These Community Guidelines set expectations for respectful, safe, and lawful participation on Sonato's platform and any Sonato-enabled communities, including but not limited to social posts, comments, and messages. They are designed to complement Sonato's Terms of Service and any club-specific house rules, and may be enforced by Sonato and/or participating clubs.

Purpose and scope

Sonato exists to help private social clubs and their members build meaningful, high-trust relationships and experiences. These Guidelines apply to:

  • All users: members, guests, club staff, partners, vendors, and other authorized users
  • All interactions: member profiles, messages, groups, posts, media uploads, guest lists, check-ins, and support interactions
  • Behavior connected to Sonato: including conduct that materially impacts user safety or platform integrity, even if it occurs off-platform

Clubs may impose additional rules (e.g., dress codes, photography policies, guest conduct requirements). When rules differ, the stricter rule will apply.

What we expect

Respect and professionalism

  • Assume good intent, but communicate with maturity and restraint.
  • Disagree without demeaning. Keep interpersonal conflict out of public or group channels.
  • Respect staff roles and operational boundaries (e.g., concierge, events, membership, security).

Privacy and discretion

  • Treat other members' presence, contact information, and personal details as confidential unless they clearly choose to share.
  • Use group spaces and "who's in the club" features with discretion; do not use them for surveillance, gossip, or social pressure.

Safety-first culture

  • If someone asks you to stop, stop.
  • If a situation feels unsafe, prioritize immediate real-world safety steps first (venue security, local emergency services), then report within Sonato.

Prohibited conduct and content

Harassment, bullying, and threats

You may not promote, coordinate, or engage in harassment—whether direct, indirect, or through others. This includes:

  • Targeted intimidation, unwanted sexual attention, stalking-like behavior, or repeated unwelcome contact
  • "Dogpiling," brigading, or organizing others to shame, exclude, or pressure someone
  • Threats of violence or harm (explicit or suggestive)

Hate speech and hateful conduct

Sonato does not allow hate speech or content that attacks or promotes hatred or violence against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics. This includes hate symbols, dehumanizing language, or atrocity denial.

Doxxing, swatting, and privacy violations

You may not share, threaten to share, or solicit personally identifying information (PII) without consent. This includes:

  • Private phone numbers, addresses, personal email, employer details, travel itineraries, or real-time location
  • Sharing screenshots of private conversations without consent when it exposes someone or creates risk

Sexual exploitation, sexual content, and non-consensual intimate media

  • Any sexual content involving minors is strictly prohibited.
  • Any attempt to groom, exploit, or sexualize minors is strictly prohibited.
  • Do not share or threaten to share intimate images or videos of someone without their explicit consent, including "revenge" content or sexual deepfakes.
  • Sonato is not a dating or escorting facilitation product. Using Sonato to solicit sexual services is prohibited.

Violence, extremism, and graphic content

  • Do not organize, promote, or support violent extremism, or glorify perpetrators of violence.
  • Do not upload or share graphic violence, gore, or animal cruelty content—especially to shock, harass, or intimidate others.

Self-harm encouragement

Content that glorifies, promotes, or normalizes suicide or self-harm—or encourages disordered eating—is prohibited.

Scams, fraud, and deceptive practices

You may not use Sonato to deceive others for financial or personal gain, including:

  • Phishing, impersonation, fake "membership" offers, counterfeit tickets, or payment redirection
  • Malware distribution, credential harvesting, or account compromise attempts
  • Price gouging, forged credentials, money laundering facilitation, or coordinated fraud

Misinformation that causes harm

Do not share false or misleading information where it can reasonably lead to significant physical or societal harm (e.g., public safety, civic interference, health emergencies, threats to infrastructure).

Platform integrity rules (how you use Sonato)

Spam and unwanted solicitation

  • No unsolicited bulk messaging, repetitive outreach, or "spray-and-pray" recruiting.
  • No lead-selling behavior, scraping, or data harvesting.
  • Commercial promotions must comply with club policies and Sonato's rules; if your club has a sponsorship program, use that channel instead.

Impersonation and identity manipulation

  • Do not misrepresent your identity in a deceptive or harmful way.
  • Do not create accounts to evade enforcement or bans.

Security and access abuse

  • Do not attempt to bypass access controls, reverse engineer protected components, or exploit vulnerabilities.
  • Do not buy/sell accounts, access, or invitations; do not share credentials or solicit others to share their credentials. (Access is personal and auditable.)

Legal compliance and regulated activity

You must comply with applicable laws and club requirements. Prohibited use includes:

  • Intellectual property infringement (copyright, trademarks)
  • Sale or facilitation of regulated or dangerous goods where unlawful or unsafe
  • Illegal gambling coordination
  • Human trafficking, sexual solicitation, or other illegal activity harming dignity, safety, or wellbeing

Club and event norms

As you use Sonato for accessing real-world venues and communicating with other club members, acknowledging club norms is especially important:

  • Guest integrity: Do not misrepresent guest identity, relationship, or eligibility. Do not offer or allow "borrowed" membership or "proxy" check-ins unless explicitly allowed by your home club.
  • Arrival and presence discretion: Do not use presence features to pressure someone socially or to track someone without their express permission.
  • Photography and recording: Follow the club's photography policy. When in doubt, assume "no recording" in sensitive spaces and never share private images of others without consent.
  • Staff respect: Operational or service disputes should be handled privately with club leadership.

Reporting and enforcement

How to report

If you see content or behavior that may violate these Guidelines:

  • Use the in-app reporting tools where available
  • Contact your club's membership or security team for immediate on-premise safety issues.
  • For urgent threats, contact local emergency services first.

How enforcement works

Sonato reviews reports from users, club moderators, trusted partners, and, other parties where required by law. We may take steps based on severity, including warnings, content removal, temporary suspension, permanent account removal, and, when appropriate, referral to law enforcement.

We may also consider relevant off-platform behavior when assessing certain violations (particularly those involving safety, harassment, threats, exploitation, or fraud).

Appeals

If action is taken on your account, Sonato may provide an appeal pathway (where feasible and appropriate). Abusive or knowingly false reports may also result in enforcement action.

Spirit of the Guidelines

Not every harmful behavior can be anticipated. Sonato may take action against conduct that violates the spirit of these Guidelines, particularly where a new or emergent threat creates risk for user safety, privacy, or platform integrity. Sonato and club moderation have practical scope limitations. We rely primarily on community reporting to identify violations of these Guidelines.
